Martin Carlberg is a songwriter and artist with a lifelong passion for turning ideas into music. He discovered songwriting in his early twenties with the bands Sweetwater and The Remedies in the 1990s, where he first experienced the thrill of creating something out of nothing. That spark quickly grew into a career that has so far resulted in more than 800 published songs. His music has appeared on records, television shows, commercials, and streaming platforms around the world.

After releasing two solo albums on Universal Music, followed by an album with his trio Bag of Tricks, Martin developed his own creative methods for writing songs more efficiently. These approaches, born out of necessity when deadlines were short and demand was high, have enabled him to consistently produce music across a wide variety of genres – from pop and rock to folk, blues, jazz, and beyond.

For Martin, songwriting is both magic and craftsmanship. It is the rush of bringing a melody, a riff, or a lyric to life – and the discipline of shaping that idea into a finished song. He believes there is no single “right” way to write; instead, there are countless paths that each lead to different results. This philosophy is at the heart of his work today, whether writing for himself, collaborating with other artists, or teaching students at music universities in Sweden.
